WHAT ARE THE COSTS FOR CUSTOM MADE STATIONERY?
Custom made letterpress stationery can be costly due to the methods used and the cost of small print runs, but I keep my prices as affordable as possible. Business cards start at £80.00 for 100 (minimum order 100) and wedding invitations start at £88.00 for 45 (minimum order for wedding stationery is 45 per design).
A full TABLE OF COSTS can be viewed on the pricing page. Digitally printed items are a little cheaper than letterpress, and are more practical for items with lots of text such as wedding programs (orders of service).
Design services are priced according to the relative complexity of the job, and the number of concepts and revisions required. Please see the 'Design Services' section of this website and this page for lower priced design only options.
Viewing the Letterpress Wedding Stationery Guide is recommended - this contains a useful table of costs, plus guidance on what is available and how the ordering process works. Please also see the 'Weddings' section of this website for detailed product listings. For Orders of Service, menus, wedding information sheets and wedding venue maps, please view or download Weddings - Digital Print Items and see the 'Digitally Printed Items' section of the shop.
I can design wedding venue maps based your wedding venue location (at a cost of £55.00) upon request.
HOW LONG WILL MY CUSTOM ORDER TAKE?
My turnaround time for custom letterpress printed orders is 14-18 working days from signoff of design to despatch (this does not include shipping time or or the design ppart of the project). I am rarely able to shorten these turnaround times, so if you are in a rush and need your items sooner, then letterpress/hand printed items may not be the best method for you (I can offer 'design only' as an alternative). Below is a breakdown of the timings:
- Design phase: can take as little as 4 days, depends mainly on customer's schedule, clarity of design brief and speed of decision-making (ideally you shouldn't rush this part)
- Production phase: 14-18 working days
- Shipping: To the UK, a next day delivery service is used (Royal Mail Special Delivery). For international shipping an insured and trackable airmail service is used. These times are approximate. To the USA, 6-12 working days. To Europe, 5-10 working days. To the rest of the world, 8-16 working days.
Can you post a custom order to my destination?
Yes, I frequently despatch orders outside of the UK.
How much are Shipping Costs?
Shipping costs depend on weight and insurance value. As a guide, here is an approximate range of costs, ranging from small orders to larger orders. UK: £7.90-£21.00; USA: £14.50-£29.00; EU: £11.50-£26.00; Australia: £16.75-£34.50.
Please note that occasionally there may be delays or additional costs due to customs in destination countries. These are imposed by the government in each location, and are outside of the vendor's control.
HOW DO I PAY?
This website takes payment via Paypal as well as card payments. For custom business card and wedding stationery orders I will create a custom order web page that you can use to pay the correct amount for your items and postage - just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your requirements and which country the order will be posted to.
CARD & ENVELOPE OPTIONS
Please view the pricing page to see dimensions of available card stock and envelopes, and this gallery for photographs.
Curious about card stock thickness? Maple Tea lists card and cotton stock weights in 'gsm' which is the metric alternative to 'lb' (pounds). This is a guide to the quality and thickness of the card (although strictly speaking it is an indicator of weight/density; gsm means 'grams per square metre'). My online gallery of card stock and envelopes (see link above) contains some captioned images that indicate the thickness of card stocks. In addition, for those accustomed to pounds, here are the stocks I use converted. Cotton stock: 300gsm = 110lb; 425gsm = 200lb cover; 600gsm = 220lb cover. Card stock: 175gsm = 65lb cover; 270gsm = 100lb cover; 350gsm = 130lb cover; 540gsm = 200lb cover; 700gsm = 260lb cover. You can view demo videos of the card stock options here.I'd like to provide a logo / artwork.
What file types are accepted for logos and custom printing? Ideally please send the originally artwork where possible. Print quality pdfs, as well as .eps, .psd, .ai files are all accepted. Please do not send jpegs as the quality is too poor to work with. Also no screenshots, or photographs of hand-drawn images. If scanning an image, try to scan at 300 or 600 dpi.
